Artyom Timofeev (Russian: Артём Тимофеев; born January 6, 1985) is a Russian chess Grandmaster. He won the European Youth Chess Championship for U18 in 2000. He tied for 1st-6th with Evgeniy Najer, Kaido Külaots, Zoltan Gyimesi, Sergey Grigoriants and Oleg Korneev at the Cappelle-la-Grande Open 2004.[1] In 2005 he won the Russian Championship for U20[2] and tied for 2nd-5th with Kamil Mitoń, Zhang Pengxiang and Lázaro Bruzón in the Samba Cup in Skanderborg.[3] He won the 2008 Moscow Open.[4]
On the April 2009 FIDE list, he has an Elo rating of 2677, making him number 53 in the world.
